Age Limit:

The age of the candidate will be calculated as of May 11, 2026. The upper age limit for all posts is 27 years. Age relaxation for reserved categories will be provided as per government rules. For instance, OBC candidates are eligible for a 3-year relaxation, and SC/ST candidates get a 5-year relaxation.

PGCIL Selection Process

The selection process for PGCIL Non-Executive posts is systematic and consists of multiple stages. All tests are designed to evaluate the candidate's technical knowledge and overall aptitude.

 

1.  Computer Based Test (CBT): This is an objective-type, two-hour exam consisting of 170 questions. The paper has two sections: 120 questions on Technical Knowledge and 50 questions on the Aptitude Test. There is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.

2.  Skill Test / Trade Test: Qualifying in nature. For the Junior Officer Trainee (HR & F&A) posts, a Computer Skill Test will be conducted. For the Junior Technician Trainee (Survey) post, a Trade Test will be held.

3.  Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents for verification.

4.  Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to the candidate being medically fit as per PGCIL norms.

 

PGCIL Salary, CTC, and Benefits

Upon successful training, the pay scales and annual remuneration offer significant financial growth.

 

Training Period (1 Year):

During the one-year training period, stipends are paid with basic pay and applicable allowances.

 

- Diploma Trainee / Junior Officer Trainee: Placed at the S0 level with a basic pay of ₹24,000. Monthly emoluments include IDA, HRA, and perks at 12% of basic.

- Junior Technician Trainee: Placed at the W2 level with a basic pay of ₹21,000. Perks and IDA are applicable.

 

Post-Training (On Regularization):

After training, the pay scales are upgraded with 3% annual increments.

 

- DTE/DTC/DTS & JOT (HR/F&A): Absorbed as Junior Engineer Gr-IV / Junior Officer Gr-IV at S1 level (₹25,000 – ₹1,17,500). The approximate annual Cost to Company (CTC) is ₹12.7 Lakhs.

- JTT (Survey): Absorbed as Junior Technician at W3 level (₹21,500 – ₹74,000). The approximate annual CTC is ₹10.9 Lakhs.

The benefits package includes Dearness Allowance, company quarters (or HRA), Performance Related Pay (PRP), laptop, mobile, Provident Fund, Gratuity, and medical facilities.

 

PGCIL (2026) Service Bond Agreement

Selected candidates must execute a mandatory service bond. The bond duration is 3 years post-training:

 

- DTE / DTC / DTS / JOT: General/OBC/EWS candidates must sign a bond of ₹2,50,000. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the amount is ₹1,25,000.

- JTT: General/OBC/EWS candidates have a bond of ₹1,25,000, reduced to ₹62,500 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

PGCIL Recruitment (2026) Step-by-Step Application Process

Interested and eligible candidates are advised to follow these simple steps to complete their application on the official PGCIL website:

 

1.  Visit the Official Website: Go to the PGCIL website at `https://www.powergrid.in`.

2.  Navigate to Careers: Find and click on the "Careers" tab on the homepage, then proceed to "Job Opportunities".

3.  Find the Relevant Link: Look for the link titled ‘Recruitment of Non-Executive Posts 2026’ and click on it.

4.  Register Yourself: Click on ‘New Registration’ and sign up using a valid and active email ID and mobile number. These should remain active for at least one year.

5.  Fill the Application Form: Log in with your new credentials and carefully fill in all the required details, including personal information, educational qualifications, and work experience, if any. You must choose one Regional Office for posting and one Post; this choice cannot be changed later.

6.  Upload Required Documents: Upload the scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and required certificates (like DOB proof, qualification mark sheets, etc.) as per the specifications mentioned in the notification.
